Church Honors 'Honeybee' Hero
ORLAND PARK, Ill. (WBBM) - Jason McDaniel, along with his wife and toddler daughter, accepted a plaque, engraved bible and gift certificate from the pastor of Ashburn Baptist Church in south suburban Orland Park this morning.

The pastor, Sam Lyons, said he had never met McDaniel before this morning, but calls him a hero and believes he needs to be honored for his bravery in protecting himself and an employee of a tanning salon last month.
McDaniel had said that he reacted the way he did because he was thinking about his family, including his 15-month-old daughter, Lexi.
Gary Amaya is considered the "Honeybee Killer" after the .38 used in the tanning salon shooting was the same gun used in a pair of shootings last October, according to Will County Sheriff's police ballestic's testing.
