Christopher Columbus Statue Removed From South Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS)-- There are no more Christopher Columbus statues on display in Chicago.

The last statue was removed from the South Chicago neighborhood located at 92nd Street and Exchange Avenue.

The 7-foot statue was removed from a fountain where it stood for more than 100 years. It was one of the first Columbus statues in the city.

The removal comes after the city took down two other Columbus statues, one in Grant Park and one in the Little Italy neighborhood.
