Christmas Is Over, But The Shopping Continues
(CBS) -- The day after Christmas is the third busiest shopping day of the year.
CBS 2's Sandra Torres reports shopping districts in the Chicago area are alive again Saturday after taking a day off for the Christmas holiday. As it turns out-- it's not just about returning gifts today.
By just looking at the crowds, you would think it's Black Friday all over again.
"I come shopping the day after Christmas because I know every store has a sale," said Jackee Watkins.
Stores like Gucci at Fashion Outlets of Chicago had a line out the door and what we found is that many weren't just returning gifts.
"I'm just out shopping for myself," said Travis Langham.
They were taking advantage of major sales to buy gifts for themselves.
While others like Andy Plewa to make sure their family gets one last round of good deals before the holidays are over.
"She's done in that store probably but we still have to go that way," he said.
With today's sales-- many retailers at places like Fashion Outlets of Chicago are expecting sales to be up 10 to 15 percent this season.
