Christmas Exhibit Opens At Museum Of Science And Industry
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Christmastime is here at the Museum of Science and Industry.
The 71st annual Christmas Around the World exhibit opens today, with more than 50 trees decorated by people from all over Chicago.
The MSI has been busy for the past two weeks with representatives from all of the Chicago area's ethnic communities coming to decorate the trees. The exhibit features trees with Japanese themes, Kenyan themes, and many others -- including a tree decorated specifically by families that have adopted children from Russia.

Anne Rashford, the museum's Director of Temporary Exhibits, says the museum's 45-foot grand tree stands above them all, not like Charlie Brown's tree.
"It has more than 25,000 lights and 1,000 ornaments; and at the base of the tree we not only have Schroeder's piano, but we have Snoopy's doghouse, all decorated for the holidays as well," she said.
The tree is a salute to the "Charlie Brown and the Great Exhibit," which has been running since October.
"Christmas Around the World" runs at the MSI through January 6th.
