Chilly Conditions, But Clouds Giving Way To Sunshine
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Conditions will remain seasonably chilly Wednesday, but cloudy skies will give way to sunshine as the afternoon goes on.
CBS 2 Meteorologist Megan Glaros reminds us that the temperature is cold enough for a winter coat and hat – 32 degrees at Midway International Airport, 31 at O'Hare, and 30 in Aurora. But conditions are dry across the area, even after some areas south of Interstate 80 saw some snow on the ground in the morning.
The forecast high for the day is 36 degrees, with north-northwest winds at 5 to 15 mph.
Overnight, skies will be clear as the low drops to 22.
Look for pleasant conditions on Thursday, as a high-pressure system rotates clockwise to the south and brings sunny skies and temperatures as warm as 40.
But it won't last. A cold front will swoop down from the north in time for Friday, when the high is only 28 degrees. For Saturday, some models have estimated the highs in the low to mid-20s, but a more optimistic figure is 27.
