Child-Porn Offender Gets 40 More Years For Sexually Assaulting Girl
ST. CHARLES, Ill. (STMW) -- A northwest suburban man already serving prison time on child pornography charges will be behind bars for a much longer time after being sentenced for the sexual assault of a young girl he knew.
A Kane County judge on Thursday sentenced William S. Muth, 46, of South Elgin to 40 years in prison, according to a release from the Kane County State's Attorney's office.
In June, a jury convicted him of six counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
Muth had sexual contact with the girl, who was younger than 13 at the time, from January 2007 until February 2008, prosecutors said.
In April 2011, a judge sentenced Muth to three years in prison after he was convicted of 22 counts of possession of child pornography.
By law, he must serve 85 percent of the final 36 years of the latest term, and was given credit for four years spent in the Kane County Jail.
