Chico: City Impedes Job Growth
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Mayoral hopeful Gery Chico says the city itself is the number one barrier to job growth in Chicago, and has outlined a plan to change it.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's John Cody reports, Chico says he is convinced Chicago loses jobs because of the way the city treats businesses.

"I hear it every day. I've heard it for years – the people that talk about the frustrating tales of having to wade through the maze of regulations and fees and rules about how you open and operate a business in Chicago," Chico said. "It's just too much."
Chico says at the top of his six-point economic development plan would be appointment of a deputy mayor for job creation and business development.
