Blow In The Wind With Bob Dylan

Date: Monday, November 10

Singer-songwriter Bob Dylan is performing at the Cadillac Palace Theatre on N. Milwaukee Avenue this Monday. Dylan has spent the last 50+ years in the music industry and has sold over 100 million records worldwide. Throughout the last half century, this folk music icon has won 10 Grammys, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. Dylan's music is filled with emotion, often making social commentary on issues that other artists have shied away from. Songs like "Blowin' In The Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changing" served as anti-war anthems while helping to bring civil rights issues mainstream in the 1960's. The concert starts at 8:00 p.m. and tickets start at $67.

Celebrate Veteran's Day

Date: Tuesday, November 11

Come out to Soldier Field this Tuesday for the annual Chicago Veteran's Day Ceremony inside Soldier Field on S. Museum Campus Drive. The ceremony itself will take place just inside Gate 0 in front of the Doughboy statue. Benches will be set up along the walls of the gate to sit and reflect on those who have served this country. Each bench is ingrained with notable quotes regarding those who has served the in the United States military. Additionally, authentic Military Medals of Honor are cast into the backrests of each bench. Admission and parking are free. The ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m.

Grab Some Chicken Soup For The Soul

Date: Wednesday, November 12

Feeling like you could use a pick-me-up? Put your mind and body at ease this Wednesday by celebrating National Chicken Soup for the Soul Day at Manny's Coffee Shop & Deli on S. Jefferson Street. Manny's will be serving up chicken soup all day with your choice of matzo balls, kreplach, noodles, rice or mushroom barley. Each order is served by the bowl or by the quart. Start Your Weekend With A Brew

Date: Friday, November 14

Cheers to the weekend! Stop by Beermiscuous on N. Lincoln Avenue after work this Friday to sample the extensive locally brewed beer menu. Beermiscuous offers beer from over 50 local Chicago breweries. Most days, you'll find patrons inside happily playing board games, cards or doing work on their laptops - all while enjoying a cold, delicious drink. While Beermiscuous doesn't serve food, it does allow customers to bring their own or order in. For a full list of Beermiscous breweries visit their official website. The cafe is open from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Fridays.

See The Color Purple At The Arie Crown Theatre

Date: Saturday, November 16

The Color Purple is playing at The Arie Crown Theatre on S. Lake Shore Drive this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. The Color Purple is presented by Oprah Winfrey, based off the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel from Alice Walker and Steven Spielberg's feature film by the same name. Tony Award winning actress Jennifer Holliday stars as Celie, a woman finding her way in the world through overcoming her trials and tribulations. There is another showing at 8:00 p.m. for anyone who is unable to make the afternoon show. Tickets for both shows start at $58.
