Chicagoans Do Some Last Minute Grocery Shopping
CHICAGO (WBBM) - For some, Thanksgiving Day didn't start in the kitchen, it began at the grocery store.
Shoppers at the Jewel Food Store at Roosevelt and Wells were rushing in and out today - buying turkey-sized baking pans, flowers and alcohol.
Ron Johnson's wife gave him a short list which included a pie and soda pop.

Another shopper Camari Richardson had a much longer list, and a reason for procrastinating. She says she recently moved into her own place, and still doesn't own many cooking utensils. So, she bought her entire Thanksgiving feast and took it to her parents' house to cook it there.
Some stores are offering shoppers fully-prepared meals, where the only preparation on your part is to warm them up. This is available through Jewel's Chef's Kitchen.
While a few Chicagoland Jewels will stay open 24 hours, others do have holiday hours. You're advised to phone first.
