Chicago Weather Forecast: Passing T-Storms, Highs In 70s
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Isolated thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout the afternoon on Monday and don't be surprised to see a non-threatening funnel cloud.
The National Weather Service reported some funnel clouds on Monday morning, especially over Lake Michigan. More could develop over the course of the afternoon, but they are not expected at this time to turn into damaging tornadoes.
National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Lake and Cook counties until 2:15 p.m. Doppler radar indicated a
severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. As of 1:15 p.m. the storm was located near near Lake Zurich and moving southeast at 15 mph.
T he severe thunderstorm will be near:
Long Grove and Vernon Hills around 120 PM CDT.
Palatine around 125 PM CDT.
Buffalo Grove around 130 PM CDT.
Lincolnshire around 135 PM CDT.
Arlington Heights and Lake Forest around 140 PM CDT.
Wheeling... Riverwoods and Bannockburn around 145 PM CDT.
Prospect Heights around 150 PM CDT.
Deerfield... Highland Park and Mount Prospect around 155 PM CDT.
High temperatures are expected to top out in the 70s, with a gradual warming trend during the week ahead. Temps could reach the mid or upper 80s later in the week, CBS 2's Mary Kay Kleist reports.
