Bitter wind chills and flurries Monday in Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) — The cold stretch continues for a few more days.
Highs on Monday and Tuesday and will stay below freezing with wind chills during the day between 10 and 20 degrees.
Nighttime wind chills in the single digits and teens.
Lake-effect snow develops late in the day and night for LaPorte County. A winter weather advisory will take effect at 2 p.m.Monday until 9 a.m. Tuesday. In areas under the alert, 2 to 4 inches of snow are expected, making travel difficult. Winter storm warnings are posted along the Michigan side of the Lake for heavy lake-effect snow.
By the middle of the week, temperatures will move into the lower 40s with a slim chance for rain and snow. The warmup will be short-lived as a strong, arctic cold front arrives.
Falling temperatures on Wednesday night, with wind chills as low as -10 degrees by Thursday morning. Below-freezing highs are expected on both Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures moderate back above freezing for the weekend.
