Lake-effect snow develops late in the day and night for LaPorte County. A winter weather advisory will take effect at 2 p.m.Monday until 9 a.m. Tuesday. In areas under the alert, 2 to 4 inches of snow are expected, making travel difficult. Winter storm warnings are posted along the Michigan side of the Lake for heavy lake-effect snow.

By the middle of the week, temperatures will move into the lower 40s with a slim chance for rain and snow. The warmup will be short-lived as a strong, arctic cold front arrives.
