Chicago Weather Alert: Highs in the low 90s, dangerous heat building
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Dangerous heat is building, with heat index numbers expected to reach triple digits.
Tuesday's temperatures will be in the low 90s, and feels-like temperatures will be near 100 degrees.
According to the National Weather Service, an excessive heating warning was issued for Wednesday and Thursday. An excessive heat watch remains in effect for Northwest Indiana.
On Wednesday and Thursday, highs reach the mid-90s, with the heat index climbing to 115 degrees.
A cold front will push through the region Thursday night and into Friday. This may bring a chance for thunderstorms, but
moisture looks to get scoured out by this weekend as temperatures are expected to fall into the 70s.
