Chicago Teen Charged With Armed Robbery Near UIC
CHICAGO (STMW) - A Chicago teen has been charged with an armed robbery near the University of Illinois at Chicago campus earlier this month.
Daijon D. Price, 17, is charged as an adult with one count of armed robbery with a firearm, a Class X felony, a release from UIC said. Chicago Police said the robbery happened on Sept. 3 on South Loomis.
The Joint Robbery Task Force of the UIC police and 12th District Chicago police, as well as Harrison Area detectives, cleared that robbery, as well as an additional robbery from Aug. 28 on West Lexington.
Neither of the victims was injured, the release said.
Task Force officers stopped two subjects on Sunday, one of whom was later identified in a photo array and subsequent lineup by the victim in the Sept. 3 robbery, the release said.
The Task Force is continuing its investigation in hopes of clearing other recent robberies in the area and identifying any accomplices.
Information on charges in the Aug. 28 robbery was not immediately available.
