Chicago Public Schools: Makeup Days For January Closings
By John Dodge
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Students who were celebrating those days off due to extreme weather earlier this month are now learning a new lesson.
There is no such thing as a free snow/cold day.
Chicago Public School administrators announced that students will make up those days with school on January 30 and June 17.
Friday, January 30 had been scheduled as a School Improvement Day with no classes.
June 17 had been planned as the first day of summer break, which will now occur on June 18.
Chicago weather is unpredictable, but it would be a safe bet to assume that June 17 will be a lot nicer than early January.
