Chicago Police Investigate Gun Found In Beverly Elementary School
(CBS) -- Chicago Police were investigating a gun brought to a school on the city's far South Side.
It happened Tuesday morning at Kellogg Elementary in the Beverly neighborhood.
A classmate apparently saw a handgun in a book bag and reported it to a teacher who then called police. According to Alderman Matt O'Shea, a student was detained and processed by police.
"Obviously, it's a very scary incident," said Emily Lambert. "All parents are concerned for the safety of their children. What happened here, the sad reality is, could happen anywhere and I'm just so glad that it was handled well here and hopefully everyone will learn from the incident."
No one was hurt, but parents were understandably worried.
