Chicago Officers Hold 24-Hour Vigil At Police Memorial
CHICAGO (WBBM) - Chicago Police officers are holding a 24-hour vigil at the police memorial to honor those who died on the job.
A police guard officer in dress uniform is wearing white gloves and holding a rifle on his shoulder. He is pacing slowly in the drizzle in front of the cascading wall of water that flows from the Gold Star Families Memorial on the east side of Soldier Field.
A tactical officer stands near by, looking at the bricks that pave the ground. Each brick is inscribed with a name. He seems to be quietly remembering an officer, one of the fallen, honored at the police memorial.
