Chicago No Longer America's Top Sports City
(CBS) Chicago is no longer America's top sports city, according to a ranking done by the Sporting News.
Point values are assigned for won-loss records, postseason appearences, attendances figures and other factors for each city's teams. The Mavericks' NBA championship weighed heavy in the rankings, as well as the Rangers winning the AL pennant, TCU winning the Rose Bowl and Cowboys Stadium hosting the Superbowl.
Boston and Philadelphia also finished ahead of Chicago.
