"The Suzuki method of violin training is taught here but infused with the Latino culture," said Tom Bracy, Executive Director of the West Loop school. "These kids, many of them haven't been outside their neighborhoods so what an experience that we can help provide to get to them out to another country and see what they can learn from this cultural exchange."
Karina Fabian is one of the students.
"I'm really excited this is a big deal so we are really excited to be going," said Fabian. "We have been preparing for so long kind of like the big moment of all our hard work has gotten us to this point where we are ready to go perform in Japan, so I am really excited."
The students will be joining 2,100 other young musicians from around the world in Matsumoto Japan.
