Chicago Murder Rate Compared With Foreign Countries
By John Dodge
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Much has been reported about Chicago's murder problem.
While the raw numbers are staggering, the city is nowhere near deadliest city in the U.S., which is New Orleans.
In 2012, Zara Matheson of the Martin Prosperity Institute took the comparisons a step further, comparing U.S. city firearm murder rates with other nations.
Chicago would be comparable to Guyana.
New Orleans, if it were a country, would be the second-deadliest nation on the planet.
