Chicago Might Also Host Russia-NATO Summit Next May
CHICAGO (CBS) -- It looks like Chicago will host not only NATO and the rich G8 nations next spring, but also Russia.
NATO is set to hold a summit in Chicago next May with its 28 member countries. The G8 meetings will be held at the same time.
As WBBM Newsradio's John Cody reports, a NATO-Russia summit could be held in Chicago too.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel said a Russia-NATO summit would just be an add on to what's already happening in Chicago this coming spring
"Sure, it's around the NATO/G8 summit that we'll be hosting in mid-May, but they're gonna just have another … an additional meeting," Emanuel said.
The mayor said it wouldn't make sense for the NATO and G-8 participants to meet in Chicago, go home, then return to meet the Russians.
NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said the Russia-NATO summit might be added to the Chicago roster if NATO and Russia can agree on substantive issues to discuss.
The NATO summit will focus on the alliance's long-term commitment in Afghanistan, its military capabilities, military defense and partnerships in the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf.
