Chicago Marathon Registration Won't Resume This Week
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Bank Of America Chicago Marathon will not resume registration this week, according to a news release.
Registration opened Tuesday, but the website experienced technical problems preventing many people from registering.
A release from Bank of America Chicago Marathon Executive Race Director Carey Pinkowski stated, "Registration for the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon continues to be suspended as our registration provider Active.com works to resolve technical issues. Registration will not reopen this week. All updates will be provided on Facebook, our website and email."
To be added to the registration announcement email, interested participants can sign up at www.chicagomarathon.com/registrationupdate.
There are currently 15,000 entries remaining, according to the Facebook page.
The race has become hugely popular and has been filling up faster ever year. The race can accommodate 45,000 runners.
