Chicago Man Killed In Suburban Crash
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (STMW) - A Chicago man was killed in a two-vehicle collision Saturday afternoon in northwest suburban Elk Grove Village.
Police responded at 12:10 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash at Elmhurst Road and Greenleaf Avenue in Elk Grove Village, according to a police release.
A 2001 Volvo truck traveling south on Elmhurst Road struck the front of a 1999 Plymouth minivan traveling east on Greenleaf Road as it made a left turn, police said.
The driver of the minivan, Zeferino Camargo, was initially taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the Volvo, Nikola Gligorevic, of Phoeniz, Ariz., was not injured, police said.
An autopsy on Camargo, 57, of the 1700 block of W. Albion Ave., is scheduled for Sunday, according to the medical examiner's office.
The Elk Grove Village Police Department's Traffic Section is still investigating the cause Saturday night.
