Chicago Man Charged With Killing Woman Found Along I-65
RENSSELAER, Ind. (CBS) -- A Chicago man was charged with murder Monday for allegedly killing woman who was traveling with him in a SUV and whose body was found along I-65 last week.
Indiana State Police responded Sept. 13 to a call of a woman injured or unresponsive on the shoulder of southbound I-65, four miles south of the Rensselaer exit.
A responding trooper found a man attempting CPR on a woman, a release from ISP said.
Rachael Savanna Woods, 20, of South Bend, Ind. was airlifted to Saint Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, where she later died, the release said.
She was traveling with others in a white 2002 Buick SUV coming from Chicago and headed to Indianapolis, the release said.
Another occupant of the SUV, Nathan Huey-Dingle, 30 of Chicago, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and taken to Jasper County Jail, the release said.
Huey-Dingle was charged Monday with murder, aggravated battery, promoting prostitution, intimidation and criminal confinement, all felonies. He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
He remained Tuesday in the Jasper County Jail in Rensselaer.
