Chicago Federal Judge Threatened By Milwaukee Man
CHICAGO (WBBM) - A 50-year-old Milwaukee man has been indicted for threatening a Chicago federal judge.
The indictment, returned Wednesday by a federal grand jury in Madison, Wis., charges John J. Miller of threatening to kidnap and murder the judge "to retaliate against the judge on account of the performance of his official duties," said FBI Special Agent Leonard Peace.
Miller allegedly made the threat Feb. 16. Peace did not give specifics and Asst. U.S. Attorney Stephen Ingraham was unavailable for comment.
If convicted, Miller faces up to 10 years in prison on each count.
The FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Wisconsin State Patrol conducted a month-long joint investigation, leading to Miller's arrest.
