Autopsy: Person Found Burned In Dumpster Was Strangled
CHICAGO (STMW) --An autopsy Monday determined a person whose charred body was found in a dumpster Sunday night in the Northwest Side Avondale neighborhood was strangled.
The person, whose gender and age are unknown, was strangled and the death was ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Firefighters were called to the 3100 block of North Kimball Avenue about 11:05 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a dumpster blaze in a nearby alley, police said.
After the flames were extinguished, firefighters noticed the body lying in the dumpster, authorities said.
Area North detectives are conducting a death investigation.
