CHA Taking Wait List Applications In 3 South Side Neighborhoods
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago Housing Authority is taking applications to get on its wait list for sites in three adjacent areas of the city.
As WBBM Newsradio's John Waelti reports, the three areas are the adjoining South Side neighborhoods of Woodlawn, South Shore and Greater Grand Crossing.
CHA spokeswoman Wendy Parks says applications are being taken this week through Saturday, and then again on Saturday, Aug. 18.
"It is not first-come, first-served," Parks said. "What we do is we put folks in a lottery so everyone will have an equal opportunity to be on the actual waiting list."
Parks says applicants must reside within one of the aforementioned three community areas to qualify for the wait list.
The registration address is 7120 S. Merrill Ave.
