CBS 2 Chicago To Expand Sunday Morning News

Chicago, Illinois – August 20, 2013 CBS 2 Chicago [WBBM-TV] is expanding its Sunday morning local news by adding an hour to the broadcast.
Beginning on September 22, the CBS 2 Sunday Morning News will start one hour earlier and air from 6:00 – 8:00 a.m., it was announced today by CBS 2 Chicago President and General Manager Marty Wilke and Vice President and News Director Jeff Kiernan.
The expanded local newscast will precede the award-winning CBS News programs "CBS Sunday Morning" and "Face The Nation."
"September 22 marks one year since our return to weekend morning news and viewers have responded," Kiernan said. "Adding an hour to our Sunday morning broadcast underscores our commitment to serving our community."
The Sunday morning newscast will continue to feature anchor Marissa Bailey, reporter Courtney Gousman and meteorologist Ed Curran.
Since the debut of the CBS 2 Sunday morning newscast last September, the audience for the time period has more than doubled and given the station its best ratings in the Sunday 7:00-8:00 am. hour since the advent of Nielsen's Local People Meters.
