Cavs In-Game Hype Video Shows Man Tossing Girlfriend To The Ground For Wearing Bulls Gear
(CBS) During Cleveland's 106-91 win against Chicago in Game 2 of their second-round series at Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday night, the Cavaliers showed an in-house hype/promo video that featured a man tossing his girlfriend to the ground because she wore Bulls gear.
The video was apparently intended to be a parody of a UnitedHealthcare commercial in which a couple gets injured while re-enacting a Dirty Dancing scene, but the Cavaliers missed the mark and rightfully received a bevy of criticism for it being tone deaf in an era of increased domestic violence awareness.
As the lady jumps into the man's arms while music plays, he tosses her down to the ground.
"Bulls fan?" the man asks in the video. "I didn't know you were a Bulls fan. I can't believe she's a Bulls fan."
A narrator then says, "When it's playoff basketball time, you have to be all in. Don't make the same mistake she made."
Near the end of the video, the lady says, "I'm all in now -- let's just watch the game."
You can watch the video above. And we can also all agree that there are countless better ways to pump up your crowd during a home game.
