Cavs Fire Mike Brown For The Second Time
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cavaliers have fired coach Mike Brown for the second time.
Owner Dan Gilbert announced the decision to relieve Brown on Monday. Gilbert also said interim general manager David Griffin is being retained as full-time GM. Griffin took over in February, when Gilbert fired Chris Grant.
The Cavs went 33-49 this season under Brown, who was first dismissed by Gilbert following the 2010 season. Gilbert says it was a "difficult decision" to release Brown. The coach signed a five-year contract last summer.
Gilbert said Griffin will lead the search for Brown's successor. The Cavs were 17-16 after Griffin took over for Grant.
