Cat Shot, Wounded With BB Gun In Elgin
ELGIN, Ill. (CBS) -- Elgin police are searching for someone who shot and wounded a Siamese cat with a BB gun over the weekend.
The owner of a flame-point Siamese cat named Sweet Potato said he let her out of his home in the 800 block of Oak Street in Elgin at 6 p.m. Saturday.
An hour later, the cat came back, acting ill, the owner told police. He took the cat to the Dundee Animal Hospital in East Dundee, where a veterinarian took an X-ray and discovered the cat had a BB pellet in her abdomen.
The animal's condition on Monday was unavailable.
Sweet Potato's owner told police a vacant home in the neighborhood has BB holes in its windows, and that a neighbor has been seen target-shooting with BBs in a neighbor's backyard.
