Castro Named NL Player Of Week
(CBS) Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro was named National League Player of the Week Monday after he amassed 17 hits in seven games from Aug. 1-7.
Castro also scored 10 runs and batted .515 last week as he helped the Cubs win seven games in a row, by far the team's longest winning-streak this season.
Castro carries an eight-game hit streak into this week's series against the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field.
