Carjacking In Hammond Indiana Carson's Parking Lot
HAMMOND (CBS) -- Hammond Police received a call Monday evening, regarding a carjacking that had just occurred at a Carson's parking lot located at 6600 block of Indianapolis Boulevard.
The victim, a 63-year old female from Lansing reported that she was in the Carson's parking lot around 8 p.m. when a man came up to her vehicle and pointed a handgun at her.
The suspect was described to be 14- to 16-year-old black, male with short, black hair wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans.
According to Hammond Police, the suspect told the victim to exit her vehicle and leave her car keys and purse behind.
The victim left her car and was not injured.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction in the victim's grey 2011 Mercedes.
In responding to the scene, officers were instructed by County 911 Dispatch that a carjacking had recently been reported in South Holland with a Chevrolet Camaro taken. The vehicle reported stolen from South Holland was recovered in the north parking lot of Carson's.
