Caregiver Accused Of Forging Personal Check
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL (STMW) -- A northwest suburban woman was ordered held on $25,000 bond after allegedly forging a personal check from an elderly person she was caring for.
Leanne Springer, 35, of the 300 block of Harold St. in Crystal Lake, was charged Monday with one count each of forgery and unlawful financial exploitation of an elderly person, both Class 3 felonies, a release from the McHenry County Sheriff's office said.
In Oct. 2010, a police report was filed after an elderly person, who was receiving home health care, reported a personal check stolen. The check was made out to Springer and deposited into her account, the release said.
