Schuster: Career High For Deng As Bulls Win
By David Schuster--
Derrick Rose notched a career high in points on Saturday and Luol Deng did the same Monday as the Bulls defeated Portland 110-98. Deng scored early and often pumping in 40 points surpassing his old high of 38. The 6'9" small forward hit 14 of his 19 shots and added some tough defense for good measure.
Deng was the star of the show but he did have help as Rose and Joakim Noah each had double doubles. Rose totaled 16 points and tied his career high with 13 assists while Noah had 10 points and 10 boards.
Portland scored the first basket and led early at 4-3 but that was it as the Bulls went on an early run and led by double digits for most of the game. They couldn't contain LaMarcus Aldridge who scored 33 points but they pretty much stopped everyone else. The Trailblazers came into the game at 3-0 but definitely were the 2nd best team on the court Monday night.
Eleven different players scored for the Bulls who were rewarded with a day off on Tuesday as next up is the NY Knicks on Thursday night.
