Car Smashes Into Optometry Center In Oak Lawn
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A car smashed into an optometry center across the street from Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Nobody in the office, located at 95th Street and South Kilbourn, was injured.
The crash happened on Thursday morning before patients arrived.
The driver of the car, who witnesses said did not appear to be injured, drove right into the office's reception area.
Police were questioning the driver as crews worked to remove the car, which destroyed a display window and bricks at the bottom of the building.
"The young man (driving) was alert and had a bloody nose," said Dr. Michael Leahy, one of the doctors who runs the optometry center.
"We made sure he was OK. He had the car in the middle of our reception room. The car was still running."
