Car Slams Into Building In Skokie, Causes Major Damage
SKOKIE, Ill. (CBS) -- Structural engineers were checking out a building in Skokie Tuesday morning after as high-speed crash.
On Monday night, a car slammed into a concrete support column in covered section of a parking lot, near Lincoln Avenue and Madison Street in Skokie.
The Skokie Fire Department says the building was heavily damaged. The crash also set off the sprinklers in the building.
As of early Tuesday, firefighters were waiting for engineers to determine whether it was safe to remove the car.
One person was taken to an area hospital. There was no word on the extent of that person's injuries.
