UPDATED 01/06/12 2:10 p.m.
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A body was found Friday in a car floating in Bubbly Creek off the Chicago River's South Branch.
Around 10:45 a.m. Friday, fire and police personnel came to Bubbly Creek near 31st Street and Archer Avenue, and found a car floating in the water.
A city Department of Streets & Sanitation crew was called to the scene, and pulled the car from the river, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
When personnel looked into the car they found a body, Mirabelli said.
At this point, police are conducting a death investigation, he said.
Bubbly Creek was infamous in times past as a dump site for animal entrails, blood and grease from the old Union Stockyards.
