Canucks: Blackhawks Are Still 'Dangerous'
VANCOUVER (CBS) -- The Vancouver Canucks are cautious as they take on the Blackhawks in the Western Conference quarterfinals later this month, and say the 'Hawks are still a "dangerous" team.
In a Monday report in the Vancouver Sun, the Canucks are keeping their emotions in check as they prepare to take on the Blackhawks. Canucks associate coach Rick Bowness tells Sun columnist Ian MacIntyre that while the team realizes these are must-win games, they also accept that not every playoff game will be "smooth and perfect."
Bowness also told MacIntyre that even though the Blackhawks have suffered this year after losing many Stanley Cup team players due to salary cap restrictions, they are still "dangerous" and will be a "very tough opponent."
The Blackhawks will travel to Vancouver on Monday, and Game 1 is set for 9 p.m. Chicago time Wednesday at Rogers Arena. Game 2 follows at 9 p.m. Friday.
The Blackhawks return to the United Center later in the week, and will face the Canucks there in Game 3 at 7 p.m. Sunday. Game 4 is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the United Center.
If necessary, the Blackhawks will return to Vancouver for Game 5, which is set for 9 p.m. Chicago time Thursday, April 21, at Rogers Arena. Game 6, if necessary, is back at the United Center at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 24, and Game 7, if necessary, is in Vancouver on Tuesday, April 26.
