Can't Miss A Game Of Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose has stolen the show this season, and so much so that no one could have seen it coming, and no one should look away. Because if you do, you never know what you'll miss.
And those who have watched Rose all season have taken notice.
"I don't know if he's the front-runner, but he's certainly in the discussion," K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, said on the Danny Mac Show when asked about Rose's chances of winning the NBA MVP Award.
Not only has Rose lead the Bulls to a 25-12 record, good enough for third place in the East, but he's also seventh in the NBA in scoring (24.3 points per game). As impressive as that is, it's the highlight reel plays that have helped him steal all the headlines.
"You really almost have to watch this guy on a nightly basis now," Johnson said. "Because it seems like every game he's doing something that makes your jaw drop. I mean we've seen it in stretches, his first two seasons, but now you're seeing it on a game-by-game basis."
While Rose's offensive ability is soaring, his defensive play is starting to catch up.
"I know he's still probably not what people want him to be defensively," Johnson said. "But he's certainly showing a lot of improvement at that end. I think he had a great defensive game [Monday] night. And then, you know, things like that alley-oop are just why he is who he is. He's just a very unique athlete and just really really a pleasure to watch on a nightly basis."
