Cab Strikes Pedestrian, Crashes Into Liquor Store
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A taxicab disobeyed a red light and struck another cab, which then struck a pedestrian and crashed into a liquor store, injuring three people early Friday.
The accident occurred in the 2400 block of North Ashland Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood at 1:10 a.m. when a cab disobeyed a red light and t-boned another cab, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The second cab then struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk before crashing into a liquor store, Greer said.
Three people suffered injuries and were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Greer said.
The pedestrian, a 20-year-old woman, was in serious condition, Greer said.
A passenger in the first cab, a 25-year-old man and the driver of the second cab, 32-year-old man, were in stable condition, Greer said. Citations are pending.
