Byrd And Cubs Have Eyes Set On Eclipsing .500 During Homestand
CHICAGO (CBS) After a 4-3 road trip, the Chicago Cubs return home for nine games, with their sights set on getting their season back on track.
"We've been inconsistent," outfielder Marlon Byrd said. "So to get above .500 and stay about .500, you have to play well. We've been back and forth, so we have to figure it out, how to start winning games and get above .500 and take off from there."
Luckily for the Cubs, the NL Central hasn't been very consistent either. The St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds are the top two teams, and only the Cardinals are currently above .500.
Both the Cardinals and Reds will make trips to Wrigley Field over the next week.
