Buzz Continues To Build For Bulls
On Sunday the Chicago Bulls finished off their season sweep of the Miami Heat with a 87-86 win on the Heat's home court.
It's a win that put the Bulls ahead of the Heat in the Eastern Conference, and only added to the buzz surrounding the up and coming Bulls.
"Just walking on South Beach [on Saturday]," Bulls' center Joakim Noah said, "how many people were just like 'beat the Heat, beat the Heat!' in their own home town. I know in Chicago, I don't think that happens like that, it felt pretty good."
Before the season started it was the Heat who were expected to bring the MVP frontrunner to games and finish off their opponents. But it's become evident that that's not the way the season is going to play out. Derrick Rose, not LeBron James or Dwyane Wade, has taken the league by storm this season. The third year point guard is averaging 24.6 points and 8.1 assists per game.
Rose led the Bulls to a season sweep of the self-proclaimed "Heatles," and he's done it in three close games, in their three matchups the Bulls have outscored the Heat by a combined eight points (279-271).
After passing the Heat in the standings, the Bulls can now turn their focus to catching another of the conference's elite teams, the Boston Celtics. The Celtics currently sit three games ahead of the Bulls and both teams have 21 games left of their schedules.
