Burglars Skip Stealing TV, Take Kids' Banks
Aurora (STMW) -- A west suburban family returned home early Christmas morning to find that their house had been burglarized, Aurora police said.
Sometime between 4 p.m. Monday and 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, someone ransacked the home in the 300 block of West New York Street, police said. The suspects forced their way in through a door.
Once inside, the burglars did not take a flat-screen TV, DVD player or video game system. They did grab a camcorder, two kids' banks filled with change (one shaped like a baby bottle and one shaped like a toy ATM), cash and a Dora the Explorer wallet, police said. Total loss was $640, police said.
