In this case, the target of the thieves was a a 3 1/2-year-old shih-tzu-poodle mix named Remy.
Stefanson says police are trying to determine the motive for stealing the dog.
"That's what we're not sure of," Stefanson said. "The dog was adopted at a shelter out of state. There's no ownership issues with the dog. The dog is not a problem in the neighborhood. We don't know exactly why the dog was taken."
Stefanson says besides Remy, the thief or thieves took some electronics, some liquor and two china cups.
