Burglars Bore Through Wall For Jewelry Store Heist
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are looking for burglars who tunneled their way through a wall to steal gems from a Lincoln Park neighborhood jewelry store.
As WBBM Newsradio's Dave Berner reports, the robbery played out like a scene from a Hollywood movie.

Late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, the thieves broke into the Kabuki sushi restaurant at 2473 N. Clark St., then cut a hole in the wall to make their way into the neighboring Steve Quick Jeweler at 2471 N. Clark St.
The hole was only 4 inches by 4 inches, but it was made at the exact spot where a 2-ton safe sat inside.
Employees at the jewelry store noticed something was wrong when they spotted dust and debris inside the safe Wednesday morning.
The jeweler is still assessing the exact worth of the gems stolen, but it could be in excess of $500,000, the Chicago Tribune reported.
There is speculation that the heist was an inside job, because of how it was carried out, and the knowledge of the safe and security system, the Tribune reported.
