'Bully Bandit' Robs Sixth Bank Since November
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The so-called Bully Bandit, who has now robbed six banks since late November, struck again Tuesday afternoon when he walked into a bank on the Northwest Side, according to officials with the FBI's Chicago office.
The bandit robbed a Chase Bank branch about 12:21 p.m. at 5620 W. Belmont Ave. in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, said FBI spokesman Joan Hyde.
Authorities described the Bully Bandit as a Hispanic man in his late 20s to early 30s who stands about 5-foot-7 and has a medium build, brown eyes, black hair and a mustache.
He wears a black hoodie underneath a black jacket, the FBI said, adding that he did not show a weapon in his latest bank robbery.
The five other banks the Bully Bandit has robbed are:
- North Community Bank, 1600 W. Chicago Ave., on Nov. 28, 2012
- Chase Bank, 4440 W. North Ave., on Dec. 6, 2012
- PNC Bank, 6620 W. Ogden Ave. in Berwyn, on Dec. 11, 2012
- PNC Bank, 6650 W. Cermak Rd. in Berwyn, on Dec. 27, 2012
-Plaza Bank, 5601 W. Belmont Ave., on Jan. 18, 2012
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000. Anyone with information regarding the bank robberies can call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
