'Bully Bandit' Robs 11th Chicago Area Bank
(STMW) -- A man dubbed "The Bully Bandit" robbed his 11th Chicago area bank Friday afternoon -- this time on the Northwest Side.
The man walked into the Plaza Bank branch in the 5600 block of West Belmont Avenue about 1:40 p.m., implied he had a handgun and demanded cash, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.
The teller handed over an unidentified amount of cash and the robber fled on foot, police said. Nobody was injured.
The FBI identified the man as "The Bully Bandit" and reminded the public there is a $15,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
He is described as a 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8 Hispanic man with a medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes, authorities said. He is in his late 20s or early 30s and has a mustache.
He is also suspected of robbing the Chase Bank branch in the 4400 block of West North Avenue Nov. 30 and Dec. 6, 2012; the North Community Bank branch in the 1600 block of West Chicago Avenue Nov. 28, 2012; the PNC Bank branch in the 6600 block of West Ogden Avenue in Berwyn Dec. 11 and 27, 2012; the Plaza Bank branch in the 5600 block of West Belmont Avenue Jan 18; the Chase Bank branch in the 5600 block of west Belmont Avenue Jan. 29; the Chase Bank branch in the 6500 block of west Cermak Road Feb. 11; and the Chase Bank branch in the 3300 block of West Belmont Avenue Feb. 15.
The bandit is also suspected of robbing a customer at the teller counter of the Chase Bank branch in the 4800 block of West Irving Park Road, the FBI said.
