Bulls to Introduce Ronnie Brewer Today
Today the Bulls will officially announce the addition of free agent guard Ronnie Brewer. Brewer will become the third Utah Jazz player to sign with the Bulls this off-season. Carlos Boozer and Kyle Korver were both teammates of Brewer in Utah last year before he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. Brewer started 53 games with the Jazz and averaged 9.5 points per game before suffering a season ending hamstring injury with the Grizzlies after only 5 games.
Unlike restricted free agent J.J. Redick, who the Bulls made an offer to that was matched by the Orlando Magic, Brewer isn't much of a three-point threat. Brewer, a career 23.4% shooter from three, was brought in to do about everything else on the offensive end. For his career he shoots 52.1% from the floor and averages 10.3 points per game. If it wasn't for the injury he suffered Brewer's '09-'10 season may have looked more like his '08-'09 season when he averaged 13.7 points per game and played over 32 minutes per game for the Jazz. It appears as if Brewer will be the final piece to a very successful off-season for the Bulls.
