Bulls' Pau Gasol's Status Remains In Doubt For Game 5
(CBS) Bulls big man Pau Gasol's status remains in doubt for Game 5 on Tuesday at Cleveland as he deals with a strained left hamstring.
Gasol suffered the injury in Game 3, and he didn't play in the Game 4 loss Sunday at the United Center. He remains day to day, Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Monday. Gasol is "a little better" but hasn't returned to activities on the floor yet, Thibodeau said.
Chicago certainly missed Gasol on Sunday, as the front line of Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic combined for 17 points on just 7-of-28 shooting. Gibson started in Gasol's place.
Gasol's averaging 12.7 points and 6.0 rebounds in the series. He led the NBA with 54 double-doubles in the regular season and started 78 of 82 games, averaging 18.5 points and 11.8 rebounds.
The series is tied 2-2.
