Bulls Need To Find Their 'Edge'

CHICAGO (CBS) It was bad enough that the Chicago Bulls dropped Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. But to make matters worse, the Bulls, once again, struggled with a lesser opponent.

In the first round of the playoffs, the Bulls eliminated the Indiana Pacers in five games. That series wrapped up on April 26, it wasn't until a week later that the Bulls finally played another game.

"When you're coming off three days of practice, and two days prior to that off," head coach Tom Thibodeau said. "You should have high energy and intensity. And we didn't have that, we didn't have an edge to start the game."

Thibodeau's concern over his team's intensity was echoed by Derrick Rose, who will be named the league's youngest Most Valuable Player during a press conference on Tuesday.

"We have to come back with, and play with an edge," Rose said. "That's the biggest thing. [Monday] night we didn't have that edge, and we just have to prepare for that."

Game 2 of the Bulls-Hawks series will take place on Wednesday night at the United Center.
